Looking Back: Testimonials from Our Guest Lecturers

Report, 16 April 2026

From November to December 2025 we welcomed three guest lecturers from Ghana, Cameroon, and South Africa, who have now published some accounts of their time with us.

As part of our existing partnerships with University of Cape Coast in Ghana and the Université de Yaoundé I in Cameroon, we were pleased to welcome Dr. Gifty Edna Anani and Donald Beteyeh Nchofua for four-week stays with us. In addition, the visit by Ass. Prof. Dr. Sibusiso Clifford Ndlangamandla also served to explore possibilities for a new university partnership with his home institution University of South Africa.

Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Isabel Martin, the guest lecturers contributed in a variety of ways to seminars and lectures at the English Department during their four-week stays and engaged with students in classes and during our Winter School. In addition, they had the opportunity to engage with colleagues from our university, initiate (new) collaborations, and gain insights into teaching practices through school visits.

Theblog ‘The Laos Experience’ now features several accounts from the guest lecturers about their stay with us—more reports will follow shortly!
